Sponsors of Field Studies

Every year, several companies each submit a real-life strategic problem that they would like a team of MBA students to resolve in the Field Study. These companies find that they are able to tap on the rich and diverse resource of our students for innovative ideas grounded on the solid and current business education that the students get at Hitotsubashi ICS. During the Field Study, Hitotsubashi ICS students (a) are given a real-life strategic issue facing the company, (b) take the role of consultants in identifying the underlying problem, conducting analyses, and developing options, and (c) present recommendations to the top management team.

Sponsoring companies allow the student team full access to internal data, as well as arrange the necessary interviews with relevant internal and external resources. They also subsidize all out-of-pocket expenses associated with the project, e.g., travel and accommodation expenses, telecommunication expenses, etc.
