Course Overview

The objective of this course is to understand a practical application of knowledge creation theory. The Knowledge Creation course and this course are closely related with each other. In the Knowledge Creation course, students will learn the theory of knowledge creation, and in this course they will learn its practical application in actual organizations.

Starting with reflection on the knowledge creation theory, students will learn various aspects of knowledge creation and utilization in actual business settings and are expected to understand the practical application of the knowledge creation theory in depth.

Course Structure

Case studies of companies such as McKinsey, GE, Toyota, Honda, and P&G will be conducted to have a better understanding of the practical application of the knowledge creation theory. Throughout the course, the holistic understanding of knowledge management will be encouraged. Therefore, students will learn the creation, the utilization, and the protection of knowledge-based competence of organizations. Students will also learn the importance and difficulty of discarding obsolete knowledge to create new knowledge.

Teaching Methodology

Students will learn the management of knowledge-based competence of a corporation through the case studies and discussions with guest speakers.
