Our Mission

The Financial Strategy Program is designed to enable students to master and specialize in highly technical areas of finance. In order to equip students with advanced practical expertise in finance, students will be exposed to recent research developments in corporate finance, financial engineering and financial strategy. Students will also learn how to integrate and synthesize this knowledge to develop innovative business practices, which are increasingly in demand in todayfs international business sector.

Admission Requirements

The program is targeted for students who already have work experience in the areas of finance, manufacturing, trading or services. To be eligible for admission, candidates are expected to have appropriate background knowledge in English, mathematics and statistics equivalent to bachelorfs degree holders. Consideration will also be given to the quality of the required thesis proposal and relevant research potential based on work experience.

Course Structure

All classes of the Financial Strategy Program are on weekday evenings, starting at 6:00pm or later. The program will instruct students in Japanese. However, lectures given by foreign guest speakers may be conducted in English. The academic year commences in April and ends in March. The standard length of the program is two years. Students who complete the program will be awarded a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) degree.

For the successful completion of the program, students are required to complete a minimum of 34 credits comprised of core courses, specialized courses, and seminars. Students who belong to the Financial Strategy Program must earn at least 20 credits within the program. Students are allowed to earn the remaining credits in the Business Law Program of International Corporate Strategy at their own discretion. Each core and specialized subject is two credits and a seminar is four credits. Candidates who have satisfied the 34 credit requirement must submit a thesis with the approval of a faculty adviser and must pass the final examination. a thesis with the approval of a faculty adviser and must pass the final examination.

Armed with strong expertise in finance and hands-on business experience, our graduates are much sought after in the job market. Employment opportunities for our M.B.A. graduates abound in various fields of finance that include accounting and finance divisions of large corporations, risk management divisions and financial products development divisions of banks and securities companies, asset management companies, and investment banks.
