Hitotsubashi ICS Honored with ABEST21 Accreditation and "World-class Curriculum" Award for 2009 (March 25, 2009)
ABEST21: The Alliance on Business Education and Scholarship for Tomorrow, a 21st century organization
The ABEST21 Accreditation Committee, chaired by Dean Robert S. Sullivan, Rady School of Management, University of California San Diego, met on March 25, 2009 at the head office of Sony Corporation. At this meeting, Hitotsubashi ICS was one of the first four graduate business schools in Japan to be awarded accreditation. ABEST21 formally announced the accreditation simultaneously with the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology.
The four Japanese business schools to receive ABEST21 accreditation were as follows:
- Graduate School of International Corporate Strategy, Hitotsubashi University
- Graduate School of International Management, Aoyama Gakuin University
- Graduate School of Business Administration, Kobe University
- Graduate School of Business Science, University of Tsukuba

During the ceremony, the Accreditation Committee also presented Hitotsubashi ICS with the "World-class MBA Curriculum" award for 2009 in recognition of excellence in management education. Professors Emi Osono and Mikiharu Noma represented ICS at the accreditation proceedings.
